I worked for a very short time at Western Dental & am so very ashamed I did so. They are non-compliant with the Federal Debt Collections Practices Act. They offer no resolution to customer problems - which there is a lot of (A LOT) and they are entirely rude & disrespectful to their customers. While in training, (from a 19 year old, tarot card reading, tattooed & pierced raver) they state they are looking for people with good customer service skills who will treat the customer accordingly. They refer to their motto "The Ultimate Patient Experience". What's that? The ultimately worst experience a customer has ever had? They even have the nerve to call this "30 days soft collection", when their style is hard money, end of the line agency style, threatening the customer & calling many (beyond 3 times per day day, per phone number) times a day until you get them to pay something - ANYTHING as long as it's above $5. They are not interested in getting the customer current, because then they can charge their monthly $25 late fee. I was told directly by a collection supervisor there "Jaime" - "our job is to manipulate & con the customer out of their money before they realize they have been manipulated & conned". I heard on a daily basis from customers how awful the services had been, those that would sue & by most would be back. Western Dental is clearly out to rip off the low income community & especially the Latino community. I have never worked with such unintelligent, uneducated street thugs. There is no professionalism & no attempts to be professional. I'm not against people paying their bills. If you have credit extending to you, pay it back, but something is definitely amiss here & it would appear even illegal. Perhaps money laundering. How else would they be able to give away flat screen TV's, gaming systems & bonus money to their "collectors", even at the outrageous rates they charge, something is definitely wrong here and they really should be investigated.
