Wal-Mart Visa Gift Card Useless Navigation: Main page Author: Anonymous I was given a Wal-Mart gift card for $50.00 by a neighbor as a thank you gift. Upon trying to use the card I was told it needed to be activated. I called the number to activate the card and was informed that I needed the activation number on the card givers sales receipt. To embarassed to approach the gift giver months later, for she will probably no longer had the receipt and I didn't want to make her feel bad, Wal-Mart is collecting the $50 and has a very frustated and disappointed customer. How many of you go back to the person who gave you a gift to complain? I am sure Wal-Mart has pocketed all kinds of money this way! This is the only gift card I have ever had this kind of problem with. I am already tired of Wal-Mart and this just adds to the frustration. I won't shop there anymore!
