Super Save Gas Irresponsible Navigation: Main page Author: Cambodine stopped to refuel and attendant asked if I wanted a fill up. I replied that I did, and went to get some food from the store. attendant finished his fill up, and entered the store where I paid the bill and went back to my truck. I started up fine and got about a block before the engine died. I restarted barely enough to make it into a motel parking lot, where I tried restarting again with no success. I decided to stay overnight and revisit the problem in the morning while I still had juice in the battery. I had to have the truck (a 5 ton moving van) moved towed to a truck repair shop and it took most of the day before they finally figured out why it wouldn'yt fire up. the gas tank was full of diesel fuel. the moron down the road had filled my tank with diesel while I was in the store. over $700 later (motel, wasted fuel, and parts and mechanics' bills) I went back there and told the same guy who happened to be there again, what had occurred. he then told me I had told him to fill my truck full of diesel and denied responsibility. I could see there was no point pursuing this with this guy, and just shook my head and decided to bring it to the attention of a superior when I was back home. when I returned after my trip, I got a hold of the regional manager in Kamloops who looked into it and informed me they would not be compensating me because they were choosing to believe their attendant in his contention that I told him to fill my truck with the wrong fuel. I then got a hold of the the guy above him in their headquarters in Surrey, who, even after a letter from my lawyer, refused to do the right thing. They knew it wasn't worth my time to pursue the matter in small claims court so far from my home, and so I just dropped it. anyways, I never forgot how they dropped the ball and have never used them since in my travels when I moved people throughout the province, and am letting everyone know now through this site that Super Save Gas is tainted by a corporate culture of irresponsibility, bottom up from my experience. keep this in mind should you use them and ever have an issue. I never will again, and they've already lost more from me since than they would have parted with to just do the right thing in the first place.
