Steven Rodney Scott Navigation: Main page Author: Michelle Warren Steven Rodney Scott (ABN: 68971811941) ripped us off for over $5,500. He was paid upfront to remove asbestos sheeting from our garage/patio and to resheet the entire area. He simply didn't turn up. After a lot of harassment he eventually sent a couple of inexperienced kids around to rip some of the asbestos out. They simply pulled it straight off the building frame without removing nails/bolts etc. The result was clumps and shavings of broken asbestos EVERYWHERE. As a result he has lost his asbestos removal licence. He was already known to both the Police and Workplace Health and Safety QLD when I reported him. This was 6 months ago now. We still have 3 sheets of asbestos remaining and no walls to put the live powerpoints in to (they are hanging by live wires instead). Our home may still be decontaminated. I got out myself with the protective suit and mask and cleaned it up as best as I could and sprayed it with a mix of PVA glue and water - but I'm not an expert I don't know if I've done it correctly. For all I know my husband and I along with our infant daughter could still be exposed to asbestos fibres. Steven Rodney Scott has ignored all attempts for us to contact him to resolve this. He has also ignored all attempts by the relevant authorities: The Office of Fair Trading, The Mediation and Dispute Resolution Centre, Workplace Health & Safety QLD, the local Gladstone Bailiff and he ignored summons to attend the Magistrates Court hearing. We won the hearing and he owes us a full refund plus costs, but we need to find him first. If you know where we can find Steven Rodney Scott please let us know.
