Sahara dance was voted DC's best Dance Studio for 2010 but many people at the studio know this is only partly true. they projected beauty, grace, celebration of feminity all at the expense of the students there.
various complaints against their dance teachers were voiced and nothing has been done to correct the unethical conducts some of the teachers have done to their students. instead of celebrating feminity, they showed that you must fit their suppose ideal dancer image than being an average women, some with hips, thights and a bit of attitude. good examples are their performance shows where teachers are well known to discriminate against less than ideal students by placing them in the back of the line. they preferred to place skinny meagerly size 2, attractive, light skin dancers in the front than placing average women who represented the majority of the students who fund their studio costs.
beware !!! !!!!!!!! they will take your money AND will degrade you as a dancer.
one of their most hated teacher ebony quall (a BLACK woman) received several complaints because of her unethical placement of students, degrading teaching attitue, arrogrant remarks, threatening to band dancers from performing if they missed classes, and many more has not been repreminded for degenerating alot of her students. the students paid about $500 to take her class in order to perform. what a disgrace she was allowed to continue to make the students feel bad about themselves. even further allowed her to continue her tryanny by her special dance company so that she can continue to degenerate women by implying you are a bad dancer and not allowed in my dance company. other teachers behaviors start to mirror this hated teacher because this has become the norm.
do not spend any money on the dance classes so that you will feel bad in the end by them telling you thru hints you are horrible dancer. their dance companies are formed based on cliques and unclear dance advancement standards. you will get in if you fit their ideal image and KISS their AS%, especially the black one.
please please please please please do not subject yourself to this. it is not worth your time, money, and self esteem to take the mental abuse.
