My wife and I recently met with a Yacht Salesman from Nordhavn, Paul Hutton, in an attempt to get some information on their Yachts and on the State of the Yacht business. I am an experienced fisherman and am looking to upgrade to a new boat. While I am not in the market for a new yacht, I figured that with the state of the economy, there had to be some good deals on some used ones.

In my meeting with the Nordhavn salesman, Paul Hutton, I found him to be slimy and an utter liar. He tried to BS me about his company's product and continually lied about the competition. While I agree that Nordhavn seems to make a good boat, it is way over priced. I asked Mr. Hutton how long he had been with Nordhavn and he told me 10 years. Later, I did a quick Google search on Nordhavn and found out he has only been there 2 years and is a washed up charter boat captain! What a liar.

I also did some checking around the Dana Point Harbor on Nordhavn and Mr. Hutton and found out that Paul Hutton and Ed Fitzgerald were good friends and Mr. Hutton used to work for him. For those fo you that don't know, Ed Fitzgerald is the former owner of Dana Island Yachts who ran off with millions of dollars of customer monies. He is a wanted man by the Police and Mr. Hutton was his best friend. A lot of people seem to think he helped Ed Fitzgerald carry out his Ponzi scheme and has some of the missing money! Wow. Great guy that Paul Hutton!

I asked Mr. Hutton about the market for used Nordhavn's and he proceeded to tell me there were none available! What a crock. I had just received info on two that are for sale from another Yacht Broker less than a week ago! This guy could not keep his story straight and to top it off, he reeked of booze and cigarette smoke. Apparently, he had to give up being a Charter Boat Captain cuz he got a DUI!! If this is the best that Nordhavn can do for a salesman, I question the quality of their product.

My advice is to stay away from Nordhavn and Paul Hutton. He is a liar and a scam artist and any company that would employ him should be avoided as well.
