Motorola![]() Navigation: Main page Author: Anonymous I purchased a Razr2 V9x in April 2010 that became deffective within 10 t0 15 minutes of use. The keypad locked up because of a design flaw in the phone. I sent the phone back to the dealer and they replaced it promptly without any hassel. The new one worked properly for 3 months until the same defect occured in the second phone. I have owned 5 other earlier versions of Motorola cellphones several of them still work flawlessly as they were designed to do. I contacted the Motorola service/repair center and they had me send it in for warranty repair to their McAllan, Tx. repair center. They kept the phone for a week and returned it to me unrepaqired saying that it could not be repaired, and must be replaced. They also indicated that my one year warranty was void because the moisture sensor indicated liquid damage, so they would not honor the warranty. Since the phone had never been even close to water or any other types of liquids I started investigating an found that they install a small moisture senson in the case by the battery that absorbs moisture from the humidity in the air and can show liquid damage to the phone even on a brand new never opened phone still in the box. This gives them a way to void the warranty on phones they cannot fix and are too expensive to replace. The problem is that this phone is a very complex and compact design that is manufactured in China and is not designed to be disassembled and repaired. When they fail you through them away and start over. That is why they discontinued this model. Unfortunately for me and others that have had this same problem Motorola refuses to honor the warranty using this bogus moisture sensor to deny warranty coverage. This is corporate sponsored consumer fraud of the worst type and they get away with it because unknowing consumers don't know how to fight back. This is the worst type of Rip-Off I have ever personally encountered in 45 years....... It needs to be stopped.....
