I purchased a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado from Anaheim Chevrolet on April 06, 2008. In the course of financing I purchased a GAP policy from Owner Guard thru the dealer. I sold this vehicle on July 24, 2010, and went to cancel the remaining GAP coverage. I found out that Anaheim Chevrolet was no longer in business, and Owner Guard refused to take any responsibility for the coverage, as they said no funds had been remitted to them. They said to contact my lender which was GMAC. Upon contacting GMAC they said they were sorry but there was nothing they could do, try to contact GM in Detroit.

I did in fact finally get ahold of GM after an entire afternoon of frustration of being hung up on, transferred, and switched to other people to help me. After two days of doing absolutely nothing, I was informed that they were sorry but there was nothing they could or would do. They refused to even give me they name or address of the franchisee for Anaheim chevrolet so I could attempt to contact them. They said I am simply out of luck and there is nothing they can or will do. Superb customer service by GM, is it any wonder this joke of a car maker is going out of business?
