Scam Patrol International recently exposed 23 online scams all offering fake university degrees and transcripts. Our National Scam Alert can be found at this link.

However DiplomaCompany.com, aka The Diploma Company stands alone as the most elaborate scam website in recent history, and has been reported by many victims as trap for an FBI sting operation. The following link is just one of 12 such complaints we found:

But getting back to their clever ruse. The flashy web site is full of paid testimonials that cannot be verified, they have a real telephone number listed, and even offer a live chat "customer service" hotline. But what really blows us away is that they even went through the trouble to set up their own "fakediplomareviews.com" web site to give themselves "the best", "no.1" and "two thumbs up" ratings.

However, when we conducted our own investigation, they accepted our credit card order for more than $250, and in seven weeks we received NOTHING but an email order confirmation number.

This is when we started to dig deeper. 12 people in nine states who attempted to purchase fake diplomas from diplomacompany.com, have been terminated from their jobs and three are now being prosecuted for interstate fraud and employment fraud by the FBI. Coincidence? We think not.

We are investigating even further, but where there is smoke there is usually fire and thus far we have received complaints from 872 people who all claim they paid the diplomacompany.com, and just like us, received nothing but an order number!

Do what you will with your own money friends, but don't ever say you were not warned. In our opinion this is one of the most believable scam sites we ever investigated. BEWARE OR BE SORRY!

Most elaborate scam in recent history? Really? Where is the scam?
Diploma Company accepts credit cards payments on a secure site and sells novelty diplomas. They wouldn't be able to accept credit cards if they just stole peoples' money, the credit card companies would drop them. Everybody knows that.
Also, novelty diplomas are not illegal to buy and sell in the United States. There are some illegal things you could do with them, but how is that different from buying a gun? If it were illegal, they wouldn't have been allowed to accept payments in the first place. So I doubt the FBI is chasing down people leaving spencers gifts, because it's basically the same thing.
The real scam are sites like ND-Center.com that only accept cash payments, like Western Union or Money Gram. They can take your money and not ship you anything with absolutely no consequences.
You also may say the review sites are fake, but here is one with actual PROOF OF DELIVERY from all of the major sites, including Diploma Company and shady ND-Center:
