On 6-9-11, I purchased 6 felines from Cleghorn Paws Cattery of North Carolina. I paid in full, in cash and check on that date. Christy Carroll, breeder of Himalayan cats and owner of Cleghorn Paws, states that she told me on that date that she did not at that time have registration papers for CFA registration for these 6 felines. What she actually said was "I need to get my paperwork straightened out, and I will mail you the registrations." If I was meant to translate that statement made by her to me into "I haven't registered the kittens; I haven't even registered the sires and dams", then yes, she told me the truth on that date. HAD she told me that she did not have registrations on sires and dams, much less kittens, I would never have bought a single felines from her, much less 6! What breeder in their right mind would spend thousands of dollars on felines they she knew in advance were not registerable, nor were sires and dams registered! It defies common sense. In the weeks since then, it slowly came to the truth of the matter. NONE of these felines were registered. The sires and dams were not registered. I purchased them for my cattery. This meant that without proper CFA registrations, these felines were absolutely useless to me. I now had more mouths to feed, without being able to sell their offspring as registered.

We are now at 9-27-11. I still have NO registration papers for any of these felines. Not only that, she has failed to deliver the last feline that she owes me, or inform me as to when it will be available. I have only 5 of the 6 that were paid in full on 6-9-11, and she steadily does not respond to when I will get the 6th. CFA (Cat Fanciers' Association) has been notified of her deplorable cattery practices. They have instituted investigation into this matter, and state that Mrs. Carroll has been uncooperative with them as well. Their representative states that Mrs. Carroll has not registered any felines since 2009. Mrs. Carroll refuses all communication with me, and legal remedy will be the next step to resolving this. I am also told by Admat Cattery in Australia that Mrs. Carroll owes them money dating back years on cats purchased from them. Unless you put your "SUCKER" sticker on your forehead and expect to be treated this poorly, steer clear of Cleghorn Paws. Absolutely NOTHING has worked thus far. I welcome any idea at this point.
