In September we contracted with a Cactus Wi-Fi to install a 'hot spot' that would cost $4500. It was promised to be installed in 2-3 weeks. The installation never worked. The office, hard-wired, was functional - but the promised wifi hot spot was a dismal disappointment from the beginning. We called the second company named on the business card and requested assistance. They promised they would assist us in getting the system underway. But they had no one they could send to assist with the installation of the system. Finally, they agreed to send someone out -- but this so-called 'installation person' was a no-show from the beginning. He would contact us , talk about coming and then stop in mid-call to take another call, never coming back on the line. He was suggesting we pay hundreds more for him to complete the work never handled by Cactus Wifi. Finally, he agreed to come - for another $450.00. The first time he didn't show up at all. Then he calleod and said he HAD come, but that he was here in the middle of the night and couldn't reach us and could not find a hotel room. He offered to try to come again. We said, 'We will find quarters for you - we have motor homes and RVs on the lot [sales lot] and the office is heated, we can always open the office for you. In other words, we planned to do everything we could to accommodate him. He didn't say a word about this comment - pro or con. But I immediately received a call from Phil Hahn of Omni-Wifi who contacted me to say his installation man was now refusing to come at all. These people are the most unprofessional I've ever seen. They take advantage, promise the moon and sell things they can't service and then leave the customer holding the bag. Buyer Beware!! If you are doing business with a company that promises Internet access OR hot spot installation, check them out FIRST. We are $4500 into a system that will likely NEVER function unless we find someone capable of installing it correctly. It's been an expensive nightmare.
