Armour Services - Rapid-Rooter Rip Off DOUBLE CHARGE![]() Navigation: Main page Author: Brian On March 25, 2009 'Rapid Rooter, Inc.', owned by Armour Services, came to my home on a service call regarding the backup of water into both bath tubs and toilets. It appeared to be a septic tank problem, so the crew removed roots that had occluded the outlet pipe into the septic tank, jetted the line, and pumped the tank to nearly empty. I paid for this service the same day (Invoice #784321 for $390.00). I left the next day for a trip out of town. When I returned on April 1, 2009 and ran the dishwasher, again there was backup of water into both bath tubs and toilets. Clearly the work done on the original service call didn't fix the problem. I called that evening to request service as both toilets and both tubs were unusable. 'Rapid Rooter, Inc.' sent a single crewman on this return visit. The crewman shared that he had spoken with the former crew and that the line may need a mechanical cleaning, rather than the less effective jetter used previously. He used a machine to removed the remaining root blockage not removed during the previous visit. As of April 4, 2009 the repair appears to have worked. I have now received another bill for this service call (Invoice #784357 for $167.50). Given that this was the same issue that 'Rapid Rooter, Inc.' originally was supposed to have repaired during the first visit, I don't believe I should be charged for a second visit. I have contacted the company by email to request that this second invoice be waived given the circumstances with result to date.
