I was recently contacted by a company called ACS by a gentlemen named Shane Watson ( not his real name heavy accent) He advised I had a debt with a payday loan company and need to pay him 600 dollars or this case is being downloaded against me. He said I can go to jail for check fraud if I loose. After hearing this like most I set up a payment arrangment with him which he emailed to me to have faxed back to him with my signature. Well to start off for a big collection company your email exchange is not going to be @gmail.com. PLease. I opened the form and it said payment is going to be authorized to a company called PCS. This didn't sit well with me. I went to the bank and had them close my card and issue a new one. THe day the payment was to be due I recieve 4 voice mails in a row at work asking to call back so he (Shane Watson at American Direct Sweepstakes)can verify my three digit code or my exp date. I called him back and advised the bank was investigating and will not release funds until they know who this PCS is. I asked for the phone number and address. I was told He cannot give me the address but can give me the phone number. Well this was a differnt area code but still a NY number which according to my bank this credit He also told me his corporate office is in Washington and ACS is just the NY department. So I called the Number right away and asked for the name of the company I was calling and they just kept asking who they were talking to. THen he asked if he was speaking to my name which he referenced. I asked how he knew this since I was calling from a blocked number. After realizing his mistake he kept saying I can't hear you then I said I am contacting the attoney General and this is a scam and hung up. Hoping he is not going to call anymore. PLease don't fall for this.

ACS goes by various names including NCS, CCS, Loan Point, Bernstein and Associates, Brown and Associates, etc. They are 100% scam artists. Do not give them any information or any money at all, no matter what they tell you. They may go by another name other than those listed. Basically if they mention: bad check, defrauding a financial institution, payday loan, threaten to come to your home/employer, advise you that you will be served a summons or tell you that you will be arrested - these are all of their tactics.
File a complaint with the FBI, FTC and Attorney General (for what state you live in). These scumbags will call from different numbers that are not traceable (877 numbers usually). Somehow they are able to tap into valid numbers in your local area and use those lines to place the call. They will use generic names such as Johnson, Thompson, Smith, Parker, etc. Ask them for their information (address, website, fax number etc.). They will refuse to send you any information proving your debt (other than a fake email). Please don't give them any info and file the reports mentioned above. They need to be stopped!
